Catch a show and you'll be amazed
What do you like to do on weekends?
OK, that’s kind of a dumb question; we like to do LOTS of things…and west central Minnesota has more than its share of those “things.”
On Friday night last weekend I attended a concert of The Good Lovelies, a Canadian award-winning singing group. On Saturday night I took in “Nunsense,” performed by students at M-State college in Fergus Falls (see photo). They always do a great job with the set and cast!
Those of you who know me, know that I have been involved with theatre in various ways: actor, musician, producer, stage manager and many other hats. I’ve acted on stages in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Wisconsin and North Dakota. I’ve had leading roles, supporting roles and choral roles. Way back when, I even disrobed down to my skivvies for a comedy show in Rapid City…hey, it makes for a great trivia question!
All of this is to say that opportunities abound for getting involved in performance theatre in west central Minnesota. And all ages can be involved.
So would a page on the Live Wide Open website dedicated to all things “west central Minnesota artsy” be something you’d like to see?
If so, I’ll act on it.
