Kevin Williamson is "happy to call Morris home"
Kevin Williamson could have practiced dentistry anywhere. He and his wife chose west central Minnesota.
“I knew that I wanted to practice in a rural area,” he said. “We did a lot of research and exploring before choosing Morris. We appreciated the small-town atmosphere, great school system, and an enhanced environment of learning with having University of Minnesota-Morris located here.”
Having grown up in Britton, South Dakota, population 1200, he appreciates small-town living.
“I am happiest living in a small, rural community,” he said. “A small-town atmosphere is an amazing way to raise a family, where you are comfortable knowing there are many people watching out for your children.”
He began working at the Dental Depot in Morris in 2013 and purchased the business in 2015. His wife landed a job at the University of Minnesota-Morris as a mental health counselor.
Kevin has lived in bigger cities. His wife is from Moorhead and he received his undergraduate degree from Concordia College there. He attended dental school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He appreciated the education he received, but was drawn to the beautiful prairies and lakes of west central Minnesota, with its hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. He enjoys the people and the camaraderie, while his children have found countless activities to explore, not just with athletics, music and art, but through activities offered by the movie theater, history museum, public library, fitness center and the university.
“We live wide open by immersing ourselves in our community and exploring all that is offered in Morris,” he said. “We are happy to call Morris home.”
