Battle Lake demonstrates how a community comes together!
Battle Lake is the poster child for small town cool: great schools, good restaurants, outdoor recreation, arts, a museum and much more. Makes you proud to be an alumni, right?
So, when town supporters became aware that young area families struggled to find child care, they took it as a challenge to meet head-on. The resulting Battle Lake Area Childcare Center is the talk of the region!
But that’s not all because there is so much more to share! Who can you run into in this festive celebration? How about folks from Good Sam, Glendalough State Park, the Sporting Club, the Battle Lake School, the Lions Club, and the Prospect House? Visit with Molly from the Dance Barn and pick up materials from the Inner Otter, Art of the Lakes, Battle Lake City, and the Battle Lake Area Community Fund. Reps from Maine Presbyterian and First Lutheran Churches will be present as well. Wendy Merrick from West Central Initiative will be available to talk about the ways WCI supports the region and how your ideas could become reality!
For alumni, you can visit with the 542 Foundation and learn about reunions and what’s happening in your schools. In fact, you might reconnect with teachers or staff who plan to be there!
Come and tour the Center, hear the amazing story of how it came together, discover another exciting development ahead in town and learn how former residents and alumni can pitch in to get involved!
Enjoy coffee and treats. Register for prizes! Wow….everyone welcome!
